Use of the Governor General's Flag


The Governor-General's Flag is his personal standard. The background of the flag is dark blue in colour. It is used by the Governor-General in the same way that the Royal Standard is used by The Queen.

  • 7.1. It is to be flown by day and night at the residence of the Governor-General, and lowered when the Governor-General demits office.
  • 7.2. The Flag should be flown at any military ceremony at which he is present as the Governor General is the nation's Commander in Chief.
  • 7.3. The Flag should also be flown in miniature on any car in which he is travelling. The ADC to the Governor General will provide the flag to the host as needed.
  • 7.4. The flag of the spouse of the Governor General will carry the armourial emblem of the Governor General and should be flown on the vehicle in which the spouse of the Governor General is travelling.
