Patronage


The Governor-General promotes national identity by supporting and promoting national values, diversity, inclusion, culture and heritage and is patron of community, charitable, military and cultural associations & public service organizations.

  • 10.1. Organizations granted patronage are chosen based on long-established criteria, to which groups should adhere when submitting a request.
  • 10.2. Organisations should have aims and objectives that are aligned with the role and responsibilities of the Governor-General or his personal themes and interests, be national in scope, have active programmes which are implemented on an annual basis and have evidence of being financially responsible.
  • 10.3. Once approved, organizations will benefit from the use of the Government House Property for events and meetings, the hosting of events under the patronage of His/Her/Their Excellencies and support in various forms
  • 10.4. Notwithstanding section 9.3, events are not to be held under the patronage of His/Her Excellency or Their Excellencies without their written authorization.
  • 10.5. Only organizations which are under the patronage of His/Her/Their Excellencies can be granted permission to have events under the patronage of the Governor General and/ or his spouse. Any other organization may request authorization to host an event under the auspices of His/Her/Their Excellencies.
